I recently received an RCA VR535 VCR from a friend. However, she did not have the remote for it. I tried a universal remote, but the menu button did not work with the VCR (I need the menu button to program the VCR). Does anyone have a remote they'd be willing to part with? Either post here, or e-mail me at crawcs@cyberspace.org .
Thanks!

Did you try an RCA universal remote?
I was seaching their site but couldn't find that VCR in their listings. I guess they don't show the older models.
Here is a list of their remotes: http://www.rca.com/product/viewmodellist/browseproduct/0,1323,CI126,00.html?
All our universal remotes are pre-programmed to operate most RCA equipment, and are easily set up with the touch of a few buttons, either through manual entry of a product code or Code Search, which searches the code library for you.

Yep... did my homework before posting http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif. Put an inquiry into RCA's Customer Service and am awaiting a response. Hopefully I'll find a remote that works one way or another.

How old is the VCR? If it is really old, there may not be a solution, although I'm just guessing http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif.
Good luck! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

From what I was able to find, it's from 1991. Not old enough to be older than dirt, but old enough that I might be SOL. I guess I'll find out.

Why dot you buy a universal remote, they have them anywhere and are pretty cheap. I bought one when I lost my VCR remote and now use it more my TV, Cable box and VCR.
