Macromedia in IE5 & Win98 Same?

I'm updating to IE5.
Is macromedia Shockwave Director and Flash the same as the ones in Win98?

As I installed them with Win98 is there any need to install again in IE5 or does it not make any diffence where they have been installed?

Don't know if it works like that or not, but if it doesn't, the next time you go to a Falsh enabled page it will prompt for install!
