Can you put Win OS on a Mac ?

Mac's won't run pc software because of the way the motorola processor addresses binary code. I don't know a whole lot about mac software but there are supposed to be programs that help a mac os read pc data.

You can use virtual PC and it will run a version of Win98 on your Mac. It is slow but you could at least have the OS.

Virtual PC is WAAAY cheaper then the OrangeMicro cards as they have a processor built right onto the card so it stays "speedy"... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks guys, Falconsx, this pal is disabled from an elevator malfunction at a local power plant, both knees broken and both shoulders barely operative. He's on disability and his daughter gave him this Mackingosh thingy hoping to give him a surfing tool. The modem locks up all phones in the house when he plugs in the phone line. And, no it don't dial out.. I was hoping to give him this old Evil OS, Win95 and maybe just maybe a old modem would get him going, probably more trouble than it's worth. Thanks all, DrVette

Please...what Mac is it, and if you can tell? its current configuration?, Mac folk can be extremely helpful, im sure there are people here that have Mac experience,

I have installed virtual PC on several imac's/G3's at work. Does not run lightning fast but works well.

Win NT 4.0 has code on the cd for powerpc processors(New Macs, G3 and G4's) this should fly, *BUT* software might not run on it. I've never tried. Office may or may not run with out a special build most likely available from M$ directly. Then again, why not just buy a PC?

SoopaStar, that's a very noble idea, however I am concerned that this might open the door for shady characters to come in with some "sob, boo-hoo" story to try and get our excess hardware. Please don't confuse this with the very legitimate "Lower Country Multiple Sclerosis Society" computer roundup that happened a while back. The member gave validation as to the veracity of his cause.
