Hey All
A while back I started using several FREE internet service providers, such as Net-Zero,WorldSpy,Alta Vista, and most recently FreeWwweb.
NetZero and AltaVista both had those irritating floating banners.
WorldSpy was great.....but then Juno (floating banner)took them over.
Lastly I turned to freewwweb and have been using them for a few weeks. But tonight I fire up the ol modem and find JUNO staring me in the face.
Does any one know of a decent ISP (free of course), that does not have one of those dang foating banners ?

Freewwweb declared Chapter 11. I would also like to find a new freebie isp.

There is no such thing as descent Internet service that's free. I've tried World Spy, FreeI, and Juno. World Spy has no banner but doesn't work anymore. Juno disconnects me after 2 minutes and has a banner, FreeI is busy most of the time and has too many ads that slow down my browsing. If you want quality Internet service then pay for it. Cable or DSL is the way to go since they don't cost much more than 56K dial-up and are much faster.

Yeah, but it's nice to have a backup when your local @Home server is down...

I know that freewwweb has declared bankruptcy, but I'm using it right now, banner free! As long as I can still connect with it, I'll stay with it. I think that Juno may be looking at bailing them out. There's a link in this thread (http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/Forum17/HTML/000390.html) talking about the best (besides freewwweb) free ISPs. Give it a look.

Well, since the practice is immoral and wrong, I couldn't be the one to tell you about various programs that get the banner to stop popping up. But if you do an internet search, I'm sure you could find one of them.

I put K-Marts FREE Bluelight special on a neighbors machine yesterday, has about an 1½" banner at the bottom, I looked at it a min then made the screen image larger and just pushed it off the bottom, end of banner...

You can use netzero. ***deleted***

I think that Juno has assumed contoll over the freewwweb servers. The kps has dropped. Still no banner, and they are promoting it as such.
Long live Free isp's.

I am using my ISP's Free WebSpace, and it has no annoying pop ups or banner ads, if your ISP has webspace, USE IT!

You know how when you sign up with a ISP of some sort, they advertize "free 25 megs of WebSpace", well, I am using that. They advertized 25 megs, but give me 10. I am gonna EMail em about that........

Ok, MTP I understand now. Everyone has been talking about free dial-up connection, but you're talking about free web hosting. I agree, if I were paying for an internet connection, I would use my ISP's storage space for my website. But, I'm a cheap kinda guy so I use a free ISP and a free web host. Unfortunately, it's getting more difficult to get either one without ads in one form or another.

Hey All
Thanks for all the replies.I may have to give NetZero a second look (if I can nuke the banner).
I forgot about Address.com(on it now).It has a banner but with my screen set at 1024x768 it's not to bad.

MTP, are you talking about web site hosting, or dial-up? Your post confused me...
