Where'd the Voodoo 1's go?

There's got to be a couple of V1's lying around somewhere... My Sis 6326 is pathetic and my brother wants NHL2000 to run better on his 233MMX. Does anyone have a couple of V1's (or V2's... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif) lying around, possibly for sale fairly cheap? The budjet is kind of tight so inexpensive is definitely a plus... Thanks guys.

Last time I looked on pricewatch, you could buy a voodoo1 for less than $30 shipped. I don't know how much cheaper you could get it. Some people here might be willing to just give you one if you pay shipping. Me, I'm still using mine.

Check out some of your local computer stores (not big box stores) that specialize in repairs, they often carry lots of 4-8 meg cards for under $60 Cdn and some might have used cards too! Lord knows there should be tons of stores in Missisauga. Been there, done that. lol

Eli...here`s another option.eBay item# 298880420 Diamond Monster Voodoo 1. Looks like a starting bid of $25 plus shipping. It goes off at 9:43 PDT April 12. Eli, my wife and I have been avid eBayers for acouple of years with about 240 successful deals done. You deffinately have to be cautious with any deal you can`t hold in your hand first. So far any bum deals I`ve recieved have been covered and I`ve never done a bad deal but, you`re right, you can`t be too careful about something you REALLY need. Gary

hey eli what's wrong w/ an sis 6326 chipset on a vid car d i have a pci 8 meg sis card here. how many megs is that sis card. i tried this sis out and i was surprised at what id could do i played unreal and it looked pretty good to me.

What's wrong with it? I can't think of anything really good about it. Mine is the four meg AGP version built in. Even with the latest drivers I have yet to get any openGL applications to run, of any kind. In Roque Squadron, which needs a 3D card to run, there are red squares over many sprites, like the planets in the background. Sure Half Life looks better in "accelerated" mode, but it is actually much smoother in software mode. This is on a PII 300 with 32 meg ram (at the time). It may be a 3D adaptor, but it's no accelerator.
