Sort of an unusual question here - is it technically legal to distribute a Microsoft boot disk over the Internet? I have put together what I think to be a pretty nice boot disk, and I know that there are many people out there that would need a boot disk. Just wondering though, if Microsoft comes across the file, would they send in billions of lawyers?

Well, if you ever read that 10 page document that you have to agree to before you install software, notice that you cannot use it on more than one machine at any given time. I'm assuming that the boot disk is only good for the same OS, so anyone using the boot disk owns the OS themselves, and it is legal to own copies as backups. I'd say it's okay, but then again, I'm also not a money driven corporation set on screwing everyone.

Everything you always want to know about bootdisks but... (http://www.bootdisk.com) This guy was in trouble with Microsoft not to long ago for the very thing you propose.
