what is regedit? windows.START>RUN>regedit.
some one told me to do it but im not sure what it is.I know something with regisrty files.I asked if that TOAD program is a worm virus and they said check runonce on regedit. IS TOAD A WORM??? i would hope not!

I've never heard of TOAD, but a quick web search turned up this (http://www.pcworld.com/ontheweb/article/0,1978,12521,00.html). It talks about TOADIE.EXE which is a direct-infector virus. Is this what you are talking about?
Of course, if you have any doubt, the best thing to do would be to get up-to-date antivirus definitions and run a full scan of your system.
I don't understand what your question is about regedit. Regedit is a program used to view & edit the Windows registry. Anything listed under runonce would (just like it sounds) run one time, the next time the computer boots.

Don't play with regedit. Editting your windows registry can cause loss of data, and in severe cases damage to your system. Read up on it before using it. Rarely ever will you need to use this program. If you think something is a virus, be safe, delete it.

regedit isnt that dangerous, unless you happen to click wildy and press delete ALOT.

wouldn't a virus scanner clean that out? if you want to see if you can get it out go to www.download.com (http://www.download.com) and d/l system mechanic it works really well on cleaning out your registry. it works for win 95 98 and 2000. i think

another is cybermedia unistallar it lets you go thru your registy and delete ones that are not used anymore
