I just saw this in this months Popular Mechanics. It's something called Digimarc MediaBridge. What it is ,is some software that allows you to hold up ads/ stories in the magazine to your web cam and the software recognizes a digital "watermark" and brings up the web page that goes along with the story/ad. No more bazillion character urls, hold it up to the camera, and it goes there automatically.
Has anyone here used it yet?
I thought it was pretty neat, but I don't own a web cam yet.
Here be where to get info/software(free!!)
www.digimarc.com (http://www.digimarc.com)
You will see a little stylized "D" on each story/ad that has a link to it. Cheers...Mp
