Ok, I have this BCD-CDROM drive, it has trouble reading 700mb CD-R disks, but reads 650mb ones. It is a 42x, and it performes good, it is even a name brand drive! But alas, it is too fast. ;-( I get airsick from listening to it, it reminds me of a 747 taking off!!! I would gladely trade it for a namebrand unit that handles 700mb cd-r disks and that is something between 20 and 32x, no more than 32x, no less than 20x. You pay your shipping, I pay mine, and if the unit you are looking to trade is generic, you throw in a five spot.

I have a 40x BCD CD rom and its a pos.it spind\s to fast then loses track of where its at so yuo get major delays. also sometimes when you push the button to open it up the cd is still spinning and alas you have a flying cd in the house. Wanna trade me, you can have lots of fun with mine.

Seems like BCD might be bad news, mine doesn't do that spinning thing when you open it, but once in a while it forgets where it is at...I think I am going to reverse "tweek" it a little, I bet it would sound normal if I loaded the drivers for a cheap 20x on there...

I have a 24x cdrom. It is a toshiba and reads any cd I put in it. I have been wanting to get a faster one for a long time and this might be the time to do so...but alas I have exactly NO money to pay for shipping so unless you want to pick you the bill WE are out of luck http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
