Of course it got that many hits. When you have the most popular web browser running on 60% (i kinda made that figure up) of the computers in the world--then you go and make the default webpage to www.msn.com (http://www.msn.com) its a little obvious to me that it is going to get a bunch of hits. People (like me) are too lazy to change the default webpage since I open my browser to goto another page anyways. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif Just my $0.02

not really lazy...There just isn't one particular page that I want to goto when IE opens everytime. If you have on etha tis loaded down with JS or graphics it can possibly make IE take longer to load up. Oh oh...I think I have to goto Sysopt Confessional for just admitting that i don't have sysopt as my startup page! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

I believe that if you use the search function at the top of IE that it counts as a hit on Microsoft. I am totally making this up so if anyone can challenge this then feel free to.

Should set your browsers (no matter which one you use) to open up to a blank page. Much faster.

when you click on the search it acutally uses www.goto.com. (http://www.goto.com.) I read that in an atrticle. They made a deal with that search engine and in return...if the page mentiones MS, MS gets a stronger hit or something
