I have IBM 9LP SCSI HD and I'm hearing very bad clucking sound from HD when it's transfering data. It's getting more noiser and when I installed my Win2000 Beta, it displayed "Unpartitioned or Damaged". My HD was unpartitioned, but why damaged. This HD has warranty until 2002.
How this warranty works? Do they fix or replace with "New"? for free or minimum charge?

The hard drive warranty policy is usually a free replacement with a rebuilt drive that carries the same warranty as the original drive. In your case, 'til 2002. They will take the cost of shipping the replacement but you may (not always) have to pay to ship the damaged one.
It should go smoothly.

Thanks Bleeding Edge
What condition of HD do they take?

If your not satisfied with the condition the drives in, they'll honor the warranty. Call them and ask for a drive replacement under warranty.
Although you don't need to, call their tech support first and explain the drive's problems. They'll do what they can to help, then suggest a replacement if needed. Tech support and product replacements are different departments. If you choose to call for a replacement first, they should just issue a RMA number.
