Cheapest Place to get Adobe Premiere?

I am looking to get Adobe Premiere and the cheapest I've seen it is $309. Is there an academic discount anywhere? I've heard lots of good things about this program. I am not sure if there are any similar programs that might be as good or better at a comparable price.
