Mantell, I'm not quite sure what you are trying to achieve and I want to offer suggestions, buuuut...you lost me in your message! You talked about DVD, "system", decoder card, playing 2D/3D games, sound, processors and TV. Can you post exactly what you are wanting to do so that I can help ya?
Thanks!
Hi
Probably you mean that you want a good 2D/3D video card with DVD support ???
Let's clarify some point:
- Win98 does support DVD's
- Yes you need a sound card if you want to hear sound when playing games or DVD movies (logical, isn't it ?)
- if your video card has a TV output, Windows "will run through it" (as you wrote below)
Now, for the advices. There are many many video cards available. The choice is difficult.
One of my PC is set up as follow:
- AMD K6-2 400MHz
- 128 MB SDRam
- Matrox Mystique G200 with DVD decoder add-on
- SBLive
- no monitor ==> TV output
- Pioneer DVD 6x
Sound is great, picture is amazing...
Hope this helps a bit
