Check it out - www.opera.com (http://www.opera.com)

This thing is only 1.8mb (9mb with Java) and leaves IE and Netscape in the dust! Active RAM caching and parallel pipelining make this the cheetah of browsers - I've never seen pages download this fast! Full Java support, HTML 4.01, XML, CSS, SSL, you can even view WAP pages!

It doesn't support ActiveX or VBS but those are double edged swords anyways. Also seems to have problems with proprietary tags and plug-ins have to be manually installed.

All in all I am very impressed with this product. After my 30 days eval is up I think I'm going to plunk down the $39 for it.

What do you folks think?

I have downloaded it, and I like it, but I just like the ease-of-use that IE has. It definitly is a better browser, but I am too lazy to use it.

Dont get me wrong, I REALLY do love it

Yep its a very good browser but it isn't user friendly like IE5.
Opera is pretty fast even with pictures.
There's one more thing about opera, i heard that they use private information.

Used it a couple of years ago. It is lightning fast, but lacks some of the features of the big boys. For speed though, Opera cannot be beat.

Opera is great choice for laptops or slow connections. It really moves. My choices are as follows-- Speed: Opera, Security: Netscape, Downloading Netscape: IE4.
