Use the MasterCard to drop 10%
add a $40.00 Win98 1st ed o/s from www.9software.com (http://www.9software.com)
add a cheap modem
And ya got a pretty nice system for under $300, sure beats a Compaq or E-Disaster
Please notice that this one has a Video card, not onboard.
Pentium 2 400's anin't no slouch, notice the included 128mb RAM & 10g HD, leaving out the Dell bloatware will allow this baby to run very nicely, IMHO

There are still some left, CompGeeks inventory seems to be "Real-Time" so as orders come in, the on-line inventory that is available for shipment diminishes.
I had only ONE order for this unit http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gifSad
It really looks like a deal to me, notice the way the PCI slots are positioned, this one does NOT have an "expansion" board, so a generic mobo should fit.

Doc, why do you hate Emachines? I have one and i found it to be one of my best computers. I dont have it anymore but my mom has it at work and it works fine. Also Hawkeye178/hawkeye has a emachine and he likes it, I think.

Hawk, I don't "Hate" them, just several items in them bothers me.
Like the power supply, it's expensive, weak, and prone to failure.
Only an E-Machine stye PS will fit the opening cause they indented the case with dimples to keep you from adding a standard ATX type.
My pal at Office Depot last year told me the return rate for E-Machines being DOA was about 50%, so I tend to try to discourage people from getting a potentially problematic machine.
Ed, I got one yesterday, go.com has probs right now. on the Visa, sorry no, but the $23 discount ought not discourage you from a good deal.

Doc, thanks for all the bargains.
How do I go about getting the additional 10% ?
When I was ordering yesterday, the total was the $234.00 + shipping, but I never saw any indication of a 10% reduction.
I stopped before pressing the confirm button, and now they're all gone.
WAHHHHHHH,
thanks

Use a mastercard to lower the price
At the final checkout screen, in the bottom right corner is a red box, marked
"Promotional Code"
in it put
MC Exclusives
This will lower the cost of all "NON-Geek" specials by 10%
Note the prices before putting in the Promo Code then after, works every time for me.
Saves me the cost of shipping usually, sometimes more.
