I have an old IBM Thinkpad with Windows 95 that I have been using for word processing. The display is now rolling like the old TV's used to when vertical hold had to be reset. I had this problem once before. I didn't try to use the Thinkpad for a week and when I started it again the prolbem resolved itself. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Thanks.

Only thing I can think of is either a) its shot, or b) the video cable is loose. laptops are a ***** to open up and work on...

I agree with Soopa. The display is either shot or has a loose connection.

If your Thinkpad is built like mine, it shouldn't be too difficult to get to the video cable and reseat it. Just be careful and remember EXACTLY how it went together.

The other possibility is the video adapter inside the laptop is going out. This is a remote possibility because what you are describing does sound like the display itself is a problem.

Got a question does this problem start as soon as you start up or when windows start up? Just curious because I also have an ole TP.
