"U.S. lawyers mull commission to set Internet rules" That's just what we all need. More rules, and more governing bodies to watch us. I will agree that some things, like the overabundance of porn need attention, but I am just not too sure that we can trust these people to do the right thing, whatever that may be.

Looks like the thing that will lead to taxing the internet. If there is a governing commission on the internet, the taxpayers in general won't want to pay it, so of course the internet users will be screwed.

Lawyers are really scum! Just as bad as some politicians ( IE: Pres...)

Yep - what gets me is everytime I hear otherwise sane Internet users demand legislation on spamming...I hate spam too, but we can't give the lawyers, the legislators, the judges, and the mindless juries a backdoor into controlling content on the Internet.

The solutions to controlling spam, porn, and the like will be found in the private sector.

Go ahead, demand regulation on spam and what not, you may get what you ask for....an internet as sterile as Network TV.

Just my .O2,
