Thanks Susan 06-09-1999, 04:52 PM You have any fingernails? Or you could use your teeth...j/k I use a pair of small needle-nosed pliers. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif [This message has been edited by Susan (edited 06-09-99).] a Bill 06-09-1999, 05:06 PM I keep my nails fairly closely trimmed, so it isn't that easy but it works http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif I'm glad most jumpers have huge tabs to grab nowadays. But with the tiny little critters that still exist in some boxes, I do like Susan and use small needle nose pliers. Only do this out of desperation. Sometimes you can pull them up by hooking something under the jumper or prying under the jumper with a pen or something along those lines (paperclip), but this is for emergencies only with the power off. You run the risk of damaging something. I tried using my teeth once but my nose got in the way, that and it is awfully hard to focus that close to the critter in question, might bite the wrong jumper http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif Susan 06-09-1999, 05:14 PM It's the darn nose that get's in the way every time! Seriously, yes..be careful with the pliers. I've crushed a couple of jumpers in the past. socalgal 06-09-1999, 05:16 PM I use a pair of hemostats. They're long, slim, provide a good grip. a Bill 06-09-1999, 10:24 PM Hemostats? Sheesh, you high falutin' folks get everything, why I remember when I was young... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif J/K Hemostats are a good idea. They never crossed my mind. BBA 06-09-1999, 10:36 PM Stats?...huh! Roach clips rule! Susan 06-09-1999, 10:46 PM You can get the hemostats at any computer fair, but I haven't used one because I have large hands/knuckles. No insulation on them either http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif 800XL 06-10-1999, 12:21 AM I'm a needle nose pliers man myself. I have a pair of hemostats somewhere, but I can never find them when I need them. Actually, a lot of the time I end up using my fingers since my pliers tend to run off. You can get this stuff that comes in a can to coat the handles of tools. A lot of auto/mechanics parts places seem to carry it. It sounds like just the thing to coat a hemostat if you are nervous about not having the handles insulated. Roy 06-10-1999, 12:21 AM I used a roach clip until the roaches carried it off. Now I use a small insulated alligator clip. Luckily we don't have small insulated alligators in California. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif [This message has been edited by Roy (edited 06-10-99).] SysOpt.com
