I believe they support several different modes of writing that are not commonly supported. There might be some info at http://www.goldenhawk.com/ (the company that makes CDR Win) Sorry I can't be more specific - it was one of those things that you read in a magazine and, of course, don't have the magazine to reference!!! Also check this out: http://www.cdrom-guide.com/ They have quite an extensive forum: http://www.cdrom-guide.com/cgi/Ultimate.cgi Personally, I would get a Plextor SCSI writer if money was not a limiting factor.... and I already have an HP burner. The Plextor IDE burners are a reasonable price, though. bomac58 07-10-2000, 07:16 PM I put in a creative lab 8432 cdrw with nero and it works great. Got a good price at pricewatch and saved a few bucks. zskillz 07-10-2000, 07:41 PM plextor is far and away the best... go to the website and check out the newest CDRW... it kills the competition! -Z freem 07-10-2000, 08:46 PM ive heard Teac has a good one but i cant remember what its called codybear 07-10-2000, 09:03 PM HP or plextor I have a HP and have NO problems with it.. shadow 07-10-2000, 09:47 PM I just posted the same question http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/007355.html and have finally ordered mine, a Plextor. Just too many good things said about them. A friend said, Plextor is king and meant for people who can understand computers. All the other brands are for those other people. Mine will be here in a few days, I hope I will be pleased. bomac58 07-11-2000, 04:28 PM hey Shadow if you are not pleased with Plextor does that mean you don't understand computers? Prospero 07-12-2000, 06:17 AM Just an FYI. So far, the only 700 meg cdr's I've gotten to work with my Plextor 8/4/32, have been Imations. I tried Acers, and a few others that I don't remember, with a 100% coaster rate. The Imations have never failed. shadow 07-12-2000, 11:32 AM Bomac - Hmmm, I guess you do have a point there according to my buddy. He was a salesguy at Futureshop awhile, you know those salestypes. Always have some line. I've never had any trouble figuring out complex machines and computers are no different. I'd better understand computers since I'm taking a year long course right now. lynchmob 07-12-2000, 03:10 PM I have a Plexwriter 8x4x32 and its a beauty, but the burner I've had the longest and never made a coaster with is my Acer 4x4x32.It will work , it seems, with just about any brand of cd-r. lynch SysOpt.com
