pc upgrade plz help

Hi i am looking to upgrade my current cyrix 686 processor, specced as a 188 but overclocked to a 233 on a txpro motherboard with 64 megs of simm/dimm ram to9 something quicker and more powerful, primarily for gaming use. I need your advice on a cheap package considering i am on a very limited budget. It doestn have 2 be super fast-just something that will remain fairly speedy adn upgradeable for the next few years.
btw i am planning on using win98 2nd edition if that helps.

I'm sure you could pick up a faster used system cheap....most of the regulars here sell off stuff at very reasonable prices.
