how do i enable my CDR-RW to autostart CD's?

i inserted an audio disc as i want to use my drive as a CD-rom aswell and it did not auto start.I then clicked on CDR shortcut and the files came up and not the CD player.Is it maybe not configured correctly to play discs as i have only just installed this replacing my CDROM.Any tips please?

Try turning on the auto insert notification on the cd-rom by right clicking on my computer and going to properties, then click on the device manager tab and double click on cd-roms and double click on the burner and go to the settings tab. Put a check mark in the box for auto insert notification if it isn't checked.
