Ok, here's the scoop.. I'm probably going to go purchase a burner from Plextor... the 16x one... Now Amazon.com has the 30$ coupon making it 170 something.. and Buy.com has 15$ coupon making it 175+... Which place to buy...???

OEM or retail? Shipping cost and availability would be the next thought...

A lot of folks won't use Amazon.com anymore because of their cavalier attitude toward customer privacy.
I would get it from Buy.Com, they've always treated me with respect. (Just my humble opinion)

I like Amazon.com... but to be honest... I have never bought anything from buy.com... What do you mean by Privacy? I don't get it.. and Amazon.com seems to have the best buys... to me that is..

I've bought about a grand of stuff from Amazon.com
They are starting to disclose customer's e-mail and other stats(I heard)
My purchases from www.buy.com (http://www.buy.com) exceed $5g with not a single problem.
If I have a problem with a vendor, I give them a chance to fix it. When they don't is when I tell the world..
I vote for buy.com, often they blow amazon away with prices. Keep your eye on them, you'll seel

Thanks.. I could wait for the burner because I already have one at home... I heard Yamaha already pushed out a 20x burner..
I've never had a problem with Buy.com either, never used amazon so no opinion there.
Wait for the 20x if you want, but by the time it's affordably available someone else will have a faster one ready... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Hey, Poopie,, I forget to tell ya to go to www.techbargains.com (http://www.techbargains.com) and check out the $30.00 off a $200 order, and some others like 15 off 75 etc..
They also have one for buy.com for $15.00 off a $200 order
Buy.com's shipping is about $2.50 cheaper than Amazon
Do the math, I sometimes have a ton of screes minimized while comparing deals..

I would go with Buy.com because i've heard too many horror stories about amazon.com and their customer privacy, along with lost packages, etc.
Purchased a CDRW from, http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=manufactory&catalog=5&manufactory=1323
