Napster is still working. They are changing napster to a pay site. Well if they charge $5 a month maybe, but any more My file hunting may go else where, this is free softwhere, another great peice of freeware www.musicmatch.com (http://www.musicmatch.com) the free jukebox ,works great but free mp3/cd burning is only 2x but still works-this is a great program!

AudioGalaxy has been great! I have since gotten 300+ MB with my 33.6k dialup modem. It has auto-resume, so I just let it go at night and go to bed.

I've been using audiogalaxy in college for a few months now, I've downloaded over a gig at this stage and been delighted with it.
It has a great variety of songs and the songs virtually always come down.I just come into the labs at night queue an album and come back in the morning to pick it up.
The songs usually come down around 20 - 60 kb/sec which isn't too bad (dual T1 connection), but sometimes they can take a while to start so thats why i don't bother waiting. The resume works flawlessly because instead of downloading a song you're downloading a specific file size, lenghth, bitrate etc so it finds it easy to switch to someone with exactly the same file.
Give it a go!

If you could only get rid of the Webhancer spyware without killing off Audiogalaxy....

For those not in the know - Audiogalaxy contains Webhancer, a type of 'spyware', that allows them to monitor your surfing and downloading activities and report them to the company without your consent. To many this is considered a breach of privacy. If Webhancer is disabled, Audiogalaxy will refuse to work.

I am glad ,I started this topic as it's hard to find some of these site's and was worried about poor napster going to a pay site-, I knew someone else would pick up the slack- look's like these site's just get better and better!
