Staples has an APC 300 VA UPS (SKU 353658) starting today (May 20, 2001) for $49.94 with $40 manufacturer's mail-in rebate.
I ordered one with some other items and used one of the electronic coupons for more savings.

I'm not in Cal but I said it's great for the money but it can handle only 180w load max

Perfect for us here and EXTREMELY cheap, itl run any of my machines for at least 6 mins (desktop and 17/19" mon) if we have a rolling blackout so I can save and shutdown easily plus elim spikes and give me clean power on a daily basis (I bought more then 1 at this price)

A friend and I each go one at our local Staples--they are definately clearing out Old inventory--the QC slip said mfr 3/15/00. Heard that Lead Acid bat can go bad(sulfated) of left discharged for too long but will post this question under Help.

Checked www.apcc.com (http://www.apcc.com) for back-ups300 (BK300C) still current prod and replacement bat costs more than what staples is selling whole thing.
