...without also purchasing hardware? I'd like to buy the software, but I really don't need a retail copy with box and manuals. I figured I might get a little break by just downloading the pgm. from Norton but no ah-ah, it's even more expensive to do that than go to best buy.
Anyone have any leads?

If he doesnt have it, check for computer shows near you - they will sell NAV 2000 for around $12-20 bucks OEM. NAV 2001 is out now, so that probably replaced it at the shows.

You can pick up a copy of Norton AntiVirus 2001 from directdeals.com for $9. They also have Norton SystemWorks 2001 for $14. Both are OEM and are the latest versions.
