I'm currently building a comp for a friend and was looking for a cheap yet good video solution. The system is a PIII 700mHz, WD 15.3gig HDD, 256mb SDRAM, ECS-P6BAP-A MoBo, Teac 540E CDROM, Sony 12x/8x/32x CDRW, & 300watt power supply. This system is going to be mainly used for burning cds, internet surfing and some Adobe Photoshop work with digital images. No gaming will be involved with this system. What would be an affordable and excellent video solution for this system? AGP? PCI? any ideas would be appreciated. thanks...

This might belong in another category, but we'll leave that to our bbs admins http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
I think the general consensus is that Matrox makes cards with some of the best 2D image quality around. You might look to the G400 or the G450 as an inexpensive solution.

YEP Matrox cards are very good for that kind of thing, and even in a pinch they work pretty well at games http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif .. I had a G200 for a while with 8megs and I really liked it. I used it as a general purpose card and it worked quite well.
