Joel,
You've really got that posing thing down! I bet we see you real soon on the Edmunds web site hawking used cards!!!
Socalgal, nice (albeit very small) ride!!! I couldn't fit in that puppy with grease and a shoehorn!! Unfortunately for me, it's a mathematical truth: Mass + Girth + Height = Truck!
Have fun wheelin' around LA, dude/dudette!

HEY http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
My Miata has more leg room than a full size pick-up truck. I'm 6' tall and quite comfortable in it, thank you...
Not to mention that it's just pure FUN to drive.
I did do some case modification on it though. I removed that little foot rest next to the clutch. But no problems w/ heat. Runs fine w/ the stock heatsink and fan. Open case of course.

Hey! No leaning on the car!! Now wipe off those fingerprints! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif lol
Yep, Joel's a pretty tall guy, the steering wheel would've had to been modified for him to drive it. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
I'm sure he would've had plenty of room as a passenger... but he gave me some excuse about a plane to catch... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

Those are some real nice-looking cars guys.
SysOpt moderators have some pretty sweet vehicles! I wonder how they could have afforded that...
Illegally perhaps? http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

Joel is SysOpt's senior contributing editor. He also checks in with the board now and then. SysOpt.com is more than a message board, FYI http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif. That's a rent car in the picture above (the grand am) but Joel's regular car is nice.
Socal has a full time job - moderating sysopt is a part time endeavor for her.
I have a Bimmer and a Boxster S (to be delivered soon, and will likely sell the Bimmer) and can afford it because of the acquisition of this site last year, but probably could have anyway because this site (as most top tier hardware sites out there, contrary to popular belief) did well for me before the acquisition, revenue wise.
No illegalities here. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I knew that wasn't you're real car Scott, I mean, you livein New York right? So unless you drove all the way to California(I think) that couldn't have been your car. Now lets see a pic of the car you really drive! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
I think socalgal is a bit protective of her nice car. You drive that thing around in LA? If even half the things are true that I've heard about that place...
heh heh http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Don't believe all you hear, Frozen. Every city/town has its kookiness, but So. Cal. is one of the ultimate year-round top-down playgrounds.

What??? You seem to be a bit confused. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif That's JOEL KLEPPINGER in the picture at the top of this page. He went to L.A. to cover E3 Expo. Socalgal owns the Miata, she is our forum moderator. I am SCOTT WAINNER and I live in the Bay Area, but I did not go to southern california with Joel. This is what I drive (http://qs3.pair.com/bmw/index.html), until the Boxster arrives, most likely.

Hey Toadface! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
Well where I live (Bellevue) I don't know of any spot like that, and I've been living here for 14 years! And Bellevue isn't that big. But I believe you, there have got to be some, somewhere!
Catch ya later!

Miata's are in incredible blast to drive. If I end up leaving GA for school in LA (masters university) I will probably get the Miata to tool around in. hmm.....everyone be on the lookout for Socalgal in the car.....I know I will keep my digital camera handy! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

What size engines do Miata's have in the US? In Europe, they're sold as the MX5 and only come in 1.6 or 1.8. litre. They still rule to drive apparently, with the rear wheel drive and all...
Anyone ever seen a honda pal?? Tiny little carm really tiny, and it's kool.

Hey Alpha, It comes with the same engines in the States too, the 1.6 4 cylinder, or the 1.8 6 cylinder.
But I think they should jam an 8 cylinder down in it, but that would be the end of a lot of people... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
I always wanted a Miata, ah heck, I always wanted something that just wasn't rusted out! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Nice cars BTW, I love the pontiacs, My mom owns a Grand Prix, and I love it. But its not mine... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

Pontiacs are cool but I don't really like American cars. The honda pal rules - it's about the size of a suzuki Cappacino, it has a three cyclinder turbo-charged engine and is speed limited at 84mph for some reason. It could probably do 105mph without the limiter.
