Thanks, ~ Warthog 07-07-2000, 09:36 PM Can't help you too much, but from what everyone tells me, the Creative Labs SB Live card is the best. I'm going to get one myself. Warthog neo_otyugh 07-07-2000, 10:10 PM creative soundblaster live! not much compatability issuies as creative has long been the standard in pc audio for home systems. BBA 07-07-2000, 10:47 PM Definitely the SBlive. I have just switched to the Vortex2 and can't get it to configure A3D and the drivers for W2K seem to be a little flakey. Stan 07-08-2000, 01:02 AM Yep, SBLive is the one !! Great card... Stan OuTpaTienT 07-08-2000, 03:10 AM ****. And I just bought a brand new mono sound card. Ya mean they have stereo ones now? Biff 07-08-2000, 02:41 PM I got SBL along w/cambridge soundworks fpss it's awesome! bkehoe 07-08-2000, 03:35 PM SB Live. Aureal went bankrupt, and now only their support site is running. Brendan Pack'nHeat 07-08-2000, 03:46 PM Has any one had a SB Live with a coppermine? Fingers 07-08-2000, 04:18 PM My SB Live and Coppermine 600eb work well. When the Coppermine first came out (late last year) the existing SB Live drivers caused fatal exception errors with the new Coppermines. Creative Labs updated their drivers to support the new Coppermines and everythings been fine ever since, as far as I know. Oli 07-09-2000, 01:13 PM SB Live ! Emc2 07-09-2000, 01:18 PM What's the boost with SB Live! Platinum? Gutter Ball 07-09-2000, 08:15 PM SB Live Value! Dunno what the differences between X-Gamer/MP3/Platinum are to justify the increased price http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Warthog 07-09-2000, 09:40 PM All the Platinum has over the others (to my knowledge) is a 5 1/4" piece of hardware that has a bunch of musical instrument and music hardware plugs in it. Warthog Mlope 07-09-2000, 11:20 PM I've got SBLive/MP3 sounds great but it won't do DOS emulation & I can't play any of those good old games. Bummer [This message has been edited by Mlope (edited 07-09-2000).] Nater21 07-10-2000, 08:50 AM I have the Platinum and the difference is as stated the 5.25" hardware that convieneintly puts inputs and outputs on the front of your pc. (I find it very handy) Plus it comes with all of the software bundled with both the x-gamer and the mp3 versions. The games it comes with are thief, descent 3, and unreal. That alone makes it worth it. Plus you get lots of other audio apps. I am very happy with it. I am also running it with a pIII 667 cu and it works great. Also get the fps digital speakers from cambridge soundworks. They are great. NavyDood_ F/A18_Mech 07-10-2000, 09:33 AM SB live value for me. Jim SysOpt.com
