My typical "OfficeMax" experience......

"Day of Sale"
Get there at 11:05(Doors Open at 11). Go to aisle.....None in Stock !! Ask sales nerd, any in back room? Uhh....No !!
Decide to pick up the 50 spindle of CDR's.....Shelf EMPTY !! Ask the same sales nerd, any in the Stock Room ? Ahh....No !!

No wonder "OfficeMax" is closing some of their stores !
Sure, I could get a Rain Check, but I want them now !! Waited 3 weeks once ! Not this time!

Been there done that! I got a 30gig drive for the price of a 20gig that was on sale last year because I *****ed enough. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

It's still a **** good price.


Update!

Just checked www.pricewatch.com (http://www.pricewatch.com) and the lowest price for the same burner is $160 shipped UPS ground.

Similar experience at K-Mart.

They had some 10 pks of VHS tapes for $5.00
day before sale there was a pallet of them.

The week AFTER the sale the same looking pallet re-appeared.

BUT ! During the sale,, NO TAPES AVAILABLE

Typical bait and switch tactics used illegally throughout the world, underhanded and illegal..

The term is (I think)Fraud through deception

I went into OfficeMax during the sale and also found the shelves empty. They said to check back in a week. Went back a week later and they were still empty. I asked if I could be put on a list and then a manager offered to give me an iomega 650 CD-R 12X for $119.00. It was priced at $229. I took him up on the deal. I know that the HP at that speed is probably better but I'm happy with the iomega especially at that price.

I think if you lean on the people at Office Max, they'll cut you a deal on something else just to keep your business.

Been there did that! (and did not get the hat and the Tshirt)
Same story at the door b4 they open and none to be had.
I make it a point to scream and yell in the store now and let every1 know. (It works)

ps bought Yamaha crw2100ez 16x $199 compusa last week (took a week to get and got an hp 9500 12x free cux they screwed up)
I'll wiat if your gonna give me free stuff like a $200 burner LOL
