Does anyone have any recommendations on where I can get a good laptop at a good price? Refurbished is ok, as long as the company/model are reputable.

It came with a decent software package, and Outpost adds their own software package (games & stuff) and a very nice satchel-type carry case for free. The computer with extra RAM cost me $1099 (US) and that included free overnight shipping (a VERY big plus since I live in Alaska!) There's a lot of decent sub-$1000 notebooks out there, you'll just have to find the one that suits your needs the best. Hope this helps... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Oh yeah, I looked at refurbished notebooks, and I personally don't have much use for them. They don't really cost much less than a new unit, they are often bulkier/heavier, and the components and features may not be as modern as what is available in a new unit. I have heard of several people getting killer deals on used equipment, but I wasn't able to locate any deals that represented a better value than a new machine. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif [This message has been edited by lost1 (edited 07-09-2000).] SysOpt.com
