This is the best RAM to buy. Crucial is a subsidiary of Micron. I've got one 128MB stick and one 256MB stick. This stuff is great.
You can't beat under $100 for 256MB of high quality RAM.

Down to 90.94 now.

Where do you see $90.94?
Here's what I see:
256MB PC100 CAS2 = $91.79
256MB PC133 CAS3 = $93.59
256MB PC133 CAS2 = $96.29
http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp?model=KT7-RAID&x=12&y=12
Go for the CAS2 stuff. For only $5 more, you get more performance. And if you can't use it now, you could in a future upgrade.

Will a BH6 board take a 256Mb stick?

Case 2 only gives you 1% more power and is not worth it if you have some case 3 already! But good prices. I payed $86. with ground shipping pc133 case 3 micron 256mb.I already have 64mb of case 2 pc133 and 128mb of pc133 case 3. You only get the slowest sp in your memory chips , put one case 3 in and the case 2 will only run at case 3. 256mb of micron $86. www.memplus.com (http://www.memplus.com) save $7.59, .

CL2 overclocks better and will work just fine in my Abit KT7A. I am willing to spend a whooping $4.94 ( $90.94 shipped! (http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/Forum10/HTML/001149.html) ) for a better product.
Description:
What is the performance difference between CL2 and CL3? (http://support.crucial.com/scripts/crucial.exe/solution?11=000724-0010&130=000964475444&14=&2715=&15=&2716=&57=faq&58=&2900=HFNHyxlASm&25=-1)
Solution:
CL2 parts process data a little quicker than CL3 parts in that you have to wait one less clock cycle for the initial data. However, after the first piece of data is processed, the rest of the data is processed at equal speeds. Latency only affects the initial burst of data. Once data starts flowing, there is no effect. Bear in mind, a clock cycle for a PC100 module is 10 nanoseconds so you probably won't notice a significant performance difference. Most systems will accept either latency part. However, there are some systems that require either CL2 or CL3 parts. These requirements are built into our Memory Selectorâ„¢.
That "one less clock cycle" is need to crack RC5!!! Now get to cracking and stop being cheap! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

stodge as I am sure you know they only show sticks uo to 128MB for your board so I would assume that 128 is the max size of 1 stick.
I just checked the Abit site and your board only supports;
Memory
1.Three 168-pin DIMM sockets support SDRAM module
2.Supports up to 384MB MAX. (8, 16, 32, 64, 128MB SDRAM)
3.ECC support http://www.abit.com.tw/english/product/motherboards/bh6.htm

If you read my post I also have 128mb pc133 case 3, I would have to throw that out to get case 2 sp plus spend $10.29 for one %of sp ,but you might be right the case 2 should overclock better ,that might be true , but I am unwilling to spend any more money, I am not rich like you.

Hmm the difference in price is only $4.94 (about the cost of a six pack) from what you posted. The Crucial ram is --->click $90.94 here<---. (http://www.crucial.com/store/PartSpecs.asp?imodule=CT32M64S4D7E) It is just elementary math you know, maybe I got it wrong, nah. If you took a second and looked at my link you would see that WinXP is correct. One more time the price is... drum roll please... --->click $90.94 here<---. Thats strange it says 96.29 for that chip. I figure I saved . 96.29-86=$10.29 I saved 10.29 buying case 3 micron which is the same company that makes Crucial memory. Plus my kingston is case 3, if I buy case 2 and put my kingston in, it will only run case 3 anyway. I would have to repace the kingston too or leave it out. I would rather use the kingston and save 10.29, that way I will have 448mb of pc133 running case 3. What good is 1% of memory sp going to do, you cannot even see it? I would be better off working on cooling the computer than worrying if case 2 is faster than case 3. I guess I made my case?

I am just building up a T-Bird system and I'm a software guy. Need a little help with the ram for the following configuration:
-ATX Super Mid-Tower w/300WPS
-A7v, ASUS SOCKET A VIAKT133 CHIPSET, ATHLON/DURON 1GB,NO AUDIO.
-AMD Thunderbird 1000 CPU (socket)
-ATI Expert 2000 Rage 128 High Performance AGP 32MB Vid Card
-Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 30 GB UDMA 100, 7200rpm, 2MB Cache HD
-RAM = 256MB PC 133stick of cas2 ???
(I don't want to go DDR.
To expensive and as you can see I am penny
pinchin' here.)
Need a site and Canadian $$$ if possible. Quicker shipping if I stay in my own backyard. Does anyone here have any of what I need?

Since I'm looking for Canadian Pricing, I guess I'm looking at about .60cents on the dollar USD. $180.00 Can.
Here's some info on Cas 2 and 3 comparisons:
http://www3.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1213&p=5
Looks like I'm after the Cas 2.
Now for a name brand manufacturer and "Registred" RAM I think they call it. And at a good price?
Cheers!

Thanks, gyoung!
I'm also trying to put some hardware together for a new 1GHz Athlon or TBird / ASUS A7V133 or Abit KT7A. Incredible price! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Now, here's a RAM roundup I found - interesting! I posted to the conclusions page, but you can jump back via their index http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I can not understand how your paying $90. when the site says $96 but that is a very good deal. It s too late for me to change my order but I am not going to worry about it. I bought Micron memory case 3 256mb for $86. and my kingston runs case 3,I see little reason for that tiny extra sp. I am using my computer memory to hold lots of web pages at one time and are not into gaming too much just a few games. If I need better memory later I would get Pc150, maybe this will drop like a rock too.As long as its good memory thats all I really care. I am getting a new Abit kt7A raid and am going to push this memory to the limit and see what it will do , should be fun, this is the video game!So I have 64mb of Larmount pc133 case 2, kingston pc133 case 3 128mb, and a dose of micron 256mb of pc133 case 2, this should really give me all the boost that I need ,anymore will not really be needed anyway at this time.

Hey socalgal
I thought I was building a 1 gig T-Bird but the company I was purchasing off of went out of stock since the prices dropped. I had to settle for the 1.1 gig. **** "eh"? I think I will add another stick of the 256 PC133 cas 2 on to celebrate.
Anyone have a half assed sound card they aren't using?
Cheers!

sun they have a 15% off deal, it is linked to above. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/Forum10/HTML/001149.html
I got a KT7A board Friday and I am impressed so far. I am running a Duron 700 @133x6.5=865MHz with some generic pc100 and pny pc133 cas2 running @cas 3 @133mhz (sandra mem bench 474/539 (http://www.geocities.com/jad1097/images/sis_memory.bmp) ). I hope to get some better ram soon. That pc133 Mushkin will do over 150 @ cas2 but it comes at a price, thanks for the link socal.

I AM thinking of holding off on buying a abit kt7 A, they seem very expensive right now and my kt7 raid is working great, maybe the new memory will do the trick, there is a old say, instead of a new chip or motherboard - just add more memory and wait some more. Would I lose my raid in the upgrade, the data?

Stodge,
I have a couple of ABit BH6 boards. One of my boards has a 256 Meg stick--no problem. The manual doesn't mention anything. Hope this helps!
