Ok, I saw this PC card for a laptop, sticks out the side, and it has a full digital selphone transmiter/receiver sitting on the end of it, allows wireless internet anywhere you can use a digital cell phone.
Where can I get one!?!?!?!?

Just about any larger-sized outfit offers them. ProVantage, PCConnection, even CompUseleSsA.
Be warned, though. What you're buying is, for all intents and purposes, is another cell phone. So you'll have to get an account set up with a cell phone service. One that offers data communications. And even they don't cover all goegraphical areas.
I use a cell-capable modem card (from 3Com) and a cable to connect it to my cell phone.
I believe that I read somewhere that the effective communications speed from a cell phone modem is about 9600 baud on a good day. Might be ok for e-mail but don't expect to go surfin. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
