I'm looking for a small, light and cheap laptop type computer. When I say cheap I mean in the $1000 range. An example would be something like the systemax e-lite from global computers. It isn't much bigger than the keyboard itself, has 4gb hd, 64 meg and weighs about 3.5 lbs. Something similar might be an old compaq LTE notebook. I'd get the systemax but the rep I know claims they suck and she won't sell me one (obviously she is a friend). So I'm wondering if anybody else still makes anything like this.
I guess I could get one of the larger CE PC's but I rather have a "real PC" so I could run real versions of office, power point, exchange/outlook, etc. This would be used for travel only as I imagine something like this wouldn't be powerful enough for everyday use.
Thoughts?
