Hi, I was at the local computer super store & they have a CENDYNE 4x6x32 CD-RW drive in a retail box. Has anyone ever heard of this brand? It is $129. I don't want to by junk though. Also, who makes the drives for cendyne?
Thanks, Rhonda

i believe they make their own. I have had the 8x4x32 for about 1.5 yr now. I had to do a firmware update, but it was easy and since then no problems. I think now that the real problem with the drive was ME error, LOL now that i understand what i was doing wrong.
Great drive. would get an 8x4x32 or fast though. Unless it is a GREAT deal like 80$ or something. I think that the software package is probably as important as the drive. I like adaptec because it is easy to use. I think from what most people say it is better for newbies to the writer dept. Also i now have the latest adaptec software and it is MUCH better than the one that came with the drive. version 4.x for cd creator and ver 3.x for direct cd i think?

Cendyne repackages drives from other manufacturers. The 6x burner may be a Ricoh.
