I have the HP myself and have had no problems with it and I am sure the plextor users will say the same because they are both very good burners and reliable...toss a coin and you wont go wrong either way

I decided against a RW because R media is coming down in price so fast. I just throw them away when I want to re-write.

Today I talked to a friend who laughed at me for the decision. He confessed he's only burned 2 RWs and hasn't re-written them yet. Meanwhile he buys Rs by the spindle of 50!

Can you still buy burner non-RW ??? Maybe but I don't think so...

Anyways, it's like the same price and it can be useful for backup of drivers and things like that... That's what I do... I have one ReWritable disc that I use only for drivers for when I format my hd....

How ya doing Shadow, school being good to you? Where did you get the coupon? Krusty made mention of them a while back that they were on some web sites somewhere.
As for your post a friend that does a lot of burning swears by his Plextor IDE and his Sony burners, and in reviews i've read HP seems right up there Good luck aye!

I have the HP and I find the software very easy to use and the disaster recovery program makes it easy to back up it has saved me a lot of times.

I do believe I will be going for the Plextor. There's just too many good things said about them.

Hi cyclone. School is not too bad, the brain is hurtin from all the things I am trying to stuff into it. I'm into DOS now and almost done, unix is next and many swear about it. I'm actually looking forward to the A+ section after that even tho the book is as thick as my head.

The coupon was from entering a contest at onvia for a HP computer, I did it online.
I believe it was from an e-mail of theirs. Once done you should get asked if you'd like a coupon. They then e-mail you a number. If you're registered with em and receive their regular e-mails the contest promo link is there, from about a week ago.

If you chose HP check what a sony crx 140e
will cost you because the HP is based on the sony 140e.Dont let them confuse you by the software.
Personally i think you have to chose the plextor, what about the 12x plextor if you spend so much money on it then go for the plextor 12x so you're up to date for a few years.
