Well I finally did it. Took a friends hard earned money and built him a computer. :-) This is probably the stupidest way to learn how, but I managed to come through it alive.
The system is based on the Aopen AK-72 mobo. It has a Athlon 550 mhz processor with 64 megs of PC/133 SDRAM, and a Seagate U8 8.6 gig HD. There are four fans in the system: one case fan in front, one on the power supply, one on the processor, and one on the graphics card. The graphics card you see is a old Steath 3d 2000, from Diamond, which was soon replaced with a Geforce 256, which works fine.

Here, to the right, you can see the HD in its gondola. Also, notice the extra USB connections (thick white cable) to the left. They originally came mounted on a expansion slot adapter but I removed it because I didnt want to take up any slots. The case, which I picked up at a local "chop shop" had a missing plate in the back same size as the USB plug. So I just bolted it directly to the frame.

Well this doesn't really live up to some of the crazy projects I've seen on here, like the water cooled chipsets, amoung others. But hey, we all gotta start somewere. I plan on building my own personal system sometime this fall, once I have the cash! :-) Tell me what you think of this one though. Thanks!
