Were you aware that Staples retail stores have a policy to price match their sale prices with those you can find on the web? I wasn't until yesterday...... you have to print out the ad, or show them the URL on line where you saw the product for less, but thats easy enough.

Saved me $70 on the price of a digital camera!

One other bonus..... when comparing to internet prices and matching, they will use the same shipping charge that the on-line vendor has...unless its not listed, in which case they charge you $5!

SWEET! now we can get prices from rip-off shops like www.beststopdigital.com (http://www.beststopdigital.com) or whatever it was and go into their store and get it from a reputable place! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

If you can get them to keep their word. Staples is notorious for screwing people and not living up to their policies. I tried to Brick and Mortar pricematch of 150% and had to go all the way to the **butthole** manager to get them to do it. He refused at first because they were going to lose money, but he had to give in to policy eventually. Others have not been so lucky, some Staples managers have outright refused to honor their policies. If it works for you great, but don't expect it to always be easy.

I have tried it in the past and they will not do it here. That may just be a local policy. OfficeMax told me the same and did not even want to match BestBuys price, they did after an discussion/argument with the manager.

Do you have a URL for proof then I can make them do it! Or threaten false advertising charges again.

Remember I got a Maxtor 30 gig drive for $129. I am sure they lost some money that day big only $70 or $100. They never advertise hardware that is in stock and you can raise hell till you get it or something better.

Don't know what to tell you guys.....it worked for me. No hassle, or bother at all, and in fact, it was the salesperson who tipped me off to the policy. Go figure.

I wonder if you can do that with the online store? Then use one of those great coupons too!

I think I'd like to have a copy of that policy to take with me, along with the copy of the ad Staples requires you to bring. lynch

In as much as Staples is the only store of that kind in town, very interesting, any one got a sorce of printable proof of this policy. knowing my store, will need it.
one thing I,v read is that different stores will have a slightly different number on the same item. then they can say its not the same.??
