Hey

I have a Toshiba MD1212 or something like that... it's a 6XDVD/32XCd-rom ...

When I rip audio track from it in a program such as Audio Grabber, it only goes at like 5X and it takes a while to extract a full track...

My old Matsu****a 32X can extract at 12X although it takes like 5-6 tracks for it to reach that speed...

Why can't my DVD-rom extract audio faster than this? My hard-drive is a Quantum 7200 ATA66 and my board support ATA66... DMA is turned on in Windows 200 Pro.

Anyone can help me?

Unfornately they never give you the spec for the speed at which a cd-rom/dvd-rom can extract audio from a cd. Unless you buy a high speed one like Kenwoods 72x your pretty much going have to live with 5x speed. I have a samsung 32x cd-rom but it only does audio at 8x. The combo players can be the worse for extracted audio but they are affordable when you want to buy a all in one player!
