I have a question about the performance of the Seagate Barracuda ATAPI 327240A 27.3 GB 7200 . UDMA 66, 8ms access, 7200rpm, 512K Cache.
The difference between this HD and other similar HD's is the 512 cache as opposed to 2mb of other HD's, and the other diff is the 8ms access time as opposed to 9 of the competition. Its selling for $198 at compuplus.com.
What is the performance diff betweens the seagate and other 27 gig hd's with 2mb's. And is the price worth it. I need a new HD, I currently have a Maxtor 9gig ata66 7200rpm.
Any help would be appreciated.
