Heard almost the same thing today, quote:

"Thank you for shopping at Staples.com Mark,

order you submitted are out of stock. At this time your order has not
been processed. We restock our merchandise regularly and recommend that
you try to order your items in approximately 3-5 business days.

this temporary delay.

If you prefer, we will be happy to place the sold out item on backorder
for you. If you reply to this message and include the item number you
wish to backorder we will be happy to keep track of this item until it
becomes available.

I would email anyway and see what happens, although I may take a trip to CompUSA to see if I can get one of those 40 gig monsters.

Chef.

I will also be going to the BBB http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif I was at their store when they opened Sunday morning. They had a Matxtor 20gig for $129 and not a single one in the store! I would think this is false advertising, to not even have one when they open the store. My wife has talked to their corperate office tonight and I will see what they said when she comes home this morning. You should have seen the managers face when I asked for the corperates #. All I got from the manager was we don't to rainchecks! Sounds like a class lawsuit brewing here. THey can advertise it but can not produse the product! Well I guees since they don't have what we came for we will just go ahead and buy this stuff.!

If I do not get my drive soon I wiil reture everything I bought from them in the last thirty days and will be sure to write a polite letter to the manufactures of the products they sell how I feel about theor service and why they should not do any bussiness with them in the future.

ALso just as an note I was not the only one upset there. Many of there products that were in the paper were not in stock and I made sure everyone had the # to the main office!

ARGH!!

In response, i wrote this an indepth letter stating my displeasure in this business practice, I forgot to save it so i can quote it, but i will definately get a response to it. How dare they not honor a product price which is out of stock even though they do not say it is out of stock on their website.
