I just started using this program. Now, when I click the shortcut icon, it only loads in the systray. I can't seem to make it visible! Help!

Let me add that I double click on the systray icon, right click and click "Open ICQ" - nothing works!

hi there Warthog what version of ICQ are you using?

One thing off the top of my head would be to back up the icq database. I think the file is NewDB (if I remember correctly) and then uninstall it and then clean out the registry. Do a new download of the software and then reinstall.

Hope that works for you. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Just double click the icon in the sys trey, then it appears.

It only is supposed to do that if it is set to auto load on startup, but you might want to reset to all icq defaults in preferences because it could have been a setting you inadvertantly made.

Is this while you're connected to the internet? I'm thinking maybe you're just clicking on the "Net Detect" icon.

Ok...while I'm online, I click the icon on the desktop.

It appears in the systray. I click the icon in the systray. Nothing happens.

I right click on the icon in the systray and select, "Open ICQ". Nothing happens.

I cannot even open ICQ. I'm using the latest version.

Ok...I "fixed" it. I reinstalled ICQ. Now it is working fine but what sucks is that I don't know what I did in the first place to cause the problem.

Also, now I have to add all you Sysopt people to my contact list AGAIN. So, prepare for the little pop-up message. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
