CompUSA has 17" monitor (.28) 16" viewing area on sale for the next few days. It's made by Samsung and is $230 - $50 at register - $30 mail in rebate = $150 + tax. Good monitor for the price. I got one for my folks yesterday. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

BTW - it's a 3 yr warranty and 2 on CRT

I found Optiquest (http://www.optiquest.com/) line of monitors to be a steal in general and V75 (http://www.optiquest.com/products/V75.HTM) in particular. As you may know know Optiquest is like a daughter company of ViewSonic (http://www.viewsonic.com) only they make more economic line of monitors with very much the same outstanding qualities of ViewSonic ones.

Cheers.

Office Depot has a KDS 17" for $199.00, minus a $40.00 = $159.00, tax is cheaper here than $35.00-$50.00 for s/h. I got one and it is crisp and flicker free.

Look in your local area for a GTE Investment Recovery store-front.
Chances are you can pick up a like new HP 17" monitor for $95 or less. Then you have a name brand you can expect to find drivers and support for in the future.
I'm EXTREMELY happy with mine. Possibly AT&T and your local Bell have a similar set-up. Most companies are going to 19's and 21's to put more in front of the employee and the home user makes out like a bandit on really top-notched used equipment.
