Are there any utilities available to allow the Hard Drive on a computer to be cleaned up to prepare the system for resale other than reformating?

There are free programs that you can dl that write 1s and 0s to your hdd. I dont have a link right now but i'm sure others do.

Download a utility called BCwipe.. http://www.jetico.sci.fi/bcwipe.htm
It will allow you to do a security "wiping" that makes it dang near impossiable to recover anything from the drive and wont harm your HD in any way. works very nicely!
