Free file servers for websites

Are there such things as free file servers for websites? I know I've seen people link to files that are accessed on a different server than their own website. I can't quite recall the name of the service, although it's not any of those i-drive.com etc etc services. They do have banners that are displayed above each file link so I know it's a free service of some sort.
