I was thinking the same...
Most of thier prices are jacked up if you dont get the rebate and know the prices...Like RAM and HDD's are mostly overblown prices except for a select few.

But if your a smart comp shopper like us Sysopt'ers then we make off like bandits!

How do you know when they have a special promo goin on like this one and the $100 off before?? I just wanna know and wanna be kept updated.. And really they are great, but you have to make sure that when you buy something from these guys, you know the price of what you're buying from somewhere else, coz they do price some items real high!! But on some like the one am goin tah get today VIPERV770 ULTRA.. I get $89 off.. Heheehehe.. And also, got my Maxtor 27GB ATA/66 from them for $139 shipping included.. Talkin about a good deal.. Go VALUEAMERICA!!!

Talk about bad timing- I bought a viper770 for $170 somewhere else just before the $100 promo started, and I bought a hp cd burner a couple of days ago- before the $50.

My question is, if VA is so great, why do they NEVER answer my e-mails? I sent two; one was a question about where I can see the "118 user reviews" that apparently give one of the CD-RWs they sell 4.5 stars... the other was a question about the difference between two products that look exactly the same and have the same specs. I have yet to receive a reply and those were written days ago!

I tried signing up twice but with no luck. I haven't ordered from Value America yet but will pretty soon. Thanks

P.S.: Just keep them tips coming.

Nachgeist: VA is totally swamped right now. They just don't have much time to answer those types of email. If you try to call, you may be on hold for an hour or hour and a half or even more - they're just so backed up.

To answer your first question - what they do is pop up a little question that asks the customer about 45-60 days after purchasing something to rate that thing on a scale of 0-5. And that's the customer review section.

As for the other, they are probably the same thing, but it helps to take a look at the model # to be absolutely sure. It happens around the online shopping world a lot.

Joel... I checked the manufacturer's site and even called them, and (for anyone who's dying of curiousity) the difference between the CD-RWs HP 8100i and 8110i (and 8200i and 8210i) is that the 8x10i product contains additional software.

Thanks for the info about user reviews! /forum/smile.gif

Thanks for the post underclock. I was stupid not to log it in right away on both accounts. Just got one. I am so mad, but my wallet is happy.

Thanks again

P.S. In matter fact, none of their promotions work anymore
