new modem?

i was playing counterstrike online once and these two guys had lag that was like averaging 15. i asked them what they had and they said it was an ultra modem. used thru the phone lines and the goverment uses them. now i think this is bull but has anyone else heared about them? im guess they were on a T1 or T3 line.

they were BSing you...i used to tell people i ahd an overclocked modem that would do at least double the speed of a 56k modem...i had four people ready to give me their modems and money to "overclock" their modems. if those guys had a 15 ping that was pretty constant, they were on T1 and close to the server, T3 or they were on the network the server is on. I was playing on one of the El Nino servers the other day and the admin was playing as well, and he was getting a 15 ping while sitting next to the server. As a cable modem user my ping ranges fro 15-85 on the servers i play on, CSHoustonLive and Elnino usually
