I have been ftp'ing the iso's from red hat for about 6 hours now, and they are still not even done with disk 1!!!
I have a cable modem, and am using wsftp.
Is there a faster way to get the iso files?
or should I try another Linux version?

I don't think it's the software (it could be but I doubt it). It really depends on the servers holding the files! Some are faster, some are slower!
You can buy the distros from places like EB if you want (at least that what some people has to do if they are stuck with 56k modems but since you have cable..! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif ).

Unless you have to have Red Hat try here!

Someone on this site sent me there seems pretty fast!

Well, I guess Im gonna do this later today, from home. Either site seemed slow on friday, but that could have been my cable network.
I think I will download Mandrake, as most here seem to think it is the best for us new to *nix idiots, i mean, users.
Wish me luck!
Gonna start it at lunch, and see if it completes by dinner!
