I have stumbled onto this on two PC's this week. The quick fix is to put a non-wheel mouse onto the PC and everything works. It is on Win98 machines. Any clues?

Do you have software for it? I just bought a logitech optical wheel mouse today, plugged it into my win98 machine (without turning it off) and the wheel works fine. It did come with software though. scoots987 09-07-2001, 04:55 PM It came with a Gateway last year. Everything was preinstalled. What do I do with the software if I find it? One of the PC I mentioned was resently reformatted and reinstalled Win98. The mouse worked for a day and then all of a sudden it stopped. I assume that it is a MS wheel mouse. What ever Gateway sold. And of course Gateway has their labeling all over it. Scoots987 JnMHayes 09-07-2001, 05:26 PM I use an MS Optical Mouse (w/ wheel). I had lots of problems with the drivers becoming corrupted, to the point that I could no longer configure the mouse buttons and tried many times to reload them. The fix was to uninstall everything, install generic wheel mouse drivers, make sure everything was working, then reinstall the Intellipoint software. Jn Twinker 09-07-2001, 09:16 PM I have a MS Optical and i dont even use the Intellipoint software i just plug it in and go. Wheel works fine, just cant program my 2 side buttons. In Win2k Pro that is. SysOpt.com
