When burning Mp3s, I convert them to WAV files with MusicMatch and burn them using Adaptec's Easy CD Creator. A problem I have encountered, however, is the difference in sound level among the various tracks.
Is there a way to set MusicMatch to equalize the volume of each cut?

Thanks, ghostface, I've tried the Adaptec help file but can't find what I want. I'm hoping someone out there knows how to do this.

I use adaptec with no problem. However I have made all of my cd from downloaded mp3's. Are you making them from multiple sources? I.E. one song from a cd one from a mp3 or one from a tape deck?

I think WinAmp can equalize songs when coverting to wave but I have never tried it. Anyone one else?

I have had some problems with my cd burner and Win2k, so I have tried several different software burner packages. I can say that I like Nero the best. One of the nice things about Nero is you don't have to convert your
mp3's to a wave file first and you can click on the "normalize" option and it will make all the audio tracks you burn be at the same volume.

bhess,
The songs are downloaded from Napster, not taken from the same album.
Detemeat,
I tried Nero and didn't like it. Maybe Winamp is capable of doing what I want, but I haven't figured out how to do it.

Use Adaptec's Easy Spin Doctor (comes with Adaptec Easy CD creator Delux). It has feature of sound level equalization for all tracks you're burning. Additionally it has noise/scratch filtering options and pretty desent WAV editor. Try it.
Good Luck

^EvilDragon^,
I'm using Easy CD Creator (not deluxe), Version 3.5c. I went through the Help topics again, but can't find what I want. Maybe I'll visit their site again. Thanks, anyway.

Rip with Audio Catalyst, and use the normilize option.
Burn with Easy CD creator 4, which can burn mp3 directly. Spin Doctor (included in Easy CD creator 4) also has a lot of options.
Use audiograbber, and have it equalize all songs at a certain level of sound. Some cds are just naturally quieter. Most older recordings are much more quiet, which is annoying.
Another thing it could be is that people who make some mp3's dont know what they are doing. IE: winamp encodes and decodes mp3's accoring to the equalizer, which can be a pain cuz if you mistakenly have the bass too high, all you will hear is the speaker popping, hehe.

Wiz,
I have Audio Grabber, but it's only good for taking songs from CDs to my hard drive, right? The songs I'm trying to burn have been downloaded from the Internet as Mp3s.
De Joker,
My Easy CD Creator is 3.5, not 4. I have downloaded patches from Adaptec's website, but only for my version.

Thanks John,
I just downloaded 5.10.0144 of MusicMatch and made the settings you suggested. I'll play with it for a while and see what I can find out.

Thanks for your help, everyone. I decided the easiest way to go was to upgrade to Adaptec's version 4.0 of Easy CD Creator. It can normalize the sound levels and creates the .wav files on the fly, so they don't take up space on my hard drive.
