I installed win2k yesterday and i lost some incompatible programs, this included mbprobe.

when i try opening the program it says 'Unable to open giveio.sys driver' error.

now, either i need a new program that does the same thing or i can get an update (which ill be looking for after this post)

is there a simply program that shows you your cpu/mobo temps right there on the tasbar for win2k?

ive tried motherboard monitor b4, i didnt like it, what else it there?

well, i cant understand why you would want it on the taskbar, perhaps you meant system tray?
Motherboard monitor does do that, you just have to look for the option to set it that way. I used MBprobe under win2k when i had a board that was not supported by MBM.

some motherboards come with a hardware monitoring tool, but in my experience MBM has been the best software monitoring tool.

If you're mainboard is using a VIA chipset, you may also want to give VIA Hardware Monitor a try. It doesn't sit in the tray like MBM does. However, you need to make no adjustments to synchronize the temperature reading in the BIOS to the VIA Hardware Monitor temerature and voltage readings. As for MBM, you need to use the "Compensations" feature to synchronize it to the reading in the BIOS with certain mainboards...
